Central Elementary students partnered with the Marshall County Animal Shelter to raise money through auctioning their artwork.

Erica Cunningham, Physical Education teacher at Central Elementary School, spearheaded the show, and many others joined in to help organize, set up, and run the auction. “We all saw so many students with art talent that we wanted to find a way to celebrate them and contribute to a good cause,” said Cunningham.

Students could enter in four different categories to win first through third place. More than 60 pieces were created and donated for the art show and auction.

The auction was held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, and had a strong community showing. With their families, students came to bid on their friend’s artwork and donate to the shelter. Over $500 was raised for the shelter, and every piece of student art was sold.
