Central Elementary School hosted a Warhol STEM Event for students on Saturday afternoon, which was funded by a West Virginia Department of Culture STEAM grant.

The Andy Warhol Museum visited Central Elementary to teach Warhol’s engineering design process for screen printing, and students were able to make their own screen prints.

Students participated in a technology station where they used Keynote and Logitech crayons to make pop art selfies. Ms. Snider and advanced high school art students mentored students through this process. Another learning station included the West Liberty Center for Arts in Education college students with Ms. Karas teaching students the math of scaling pop art images.

Central Elementary faculty, staff and students are thankful for strong community partnerships such as these throughout the valley. Their students had a fun-filled day where they learned about a famous Pittsburgh Artist while strengthening their skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
